How it's paid for

I pay for it. Hosting is a few dollars a month and the domain is about fifteen a year.

What I turn down

• Advertising. None, and no arrangement with any network.
• Affiliate links. Nothing here earns a commission on a booking.
• Sponsored pages. I've had eleven approaches since 2022 and said no to all of them. Two were persistent enough to be worth mentioning.
• Free stays and meals. I pay for what I write about. It keeps the writing honest and keeps the site small, which is a fair trade.

Why say all this

Because the default assumption about a travel site is that someone is being paid, and that assumption is usually right. If my funding ever changes, this page changes first, with a date.

Affiliation

I have no connection to Explore Edmonton, the City of Edmonton, any hotel or any tour operator.
